Associations of state and trait empathy with daily alcohol use

Background A growing literature documents associations between lower trait empathy and heavier alcohol use more problems in adolescent young adult samples. Prior work linking use/problems these populations has thus far focused on rather than state empathy, researchers often do not differentiate cognitive affective empathy.
